  • Tuscaloosa League of the South meetings are first Thursday of each month at 7 p.m., Tuscaloosa County Courthouse, Second Floor courtroom.
  • Hargrove-Eddins Camp of the Sons of Confederate Veterans meet the first Tuesday of each month at 7:00 p.m. at the Tuscaloosa County Courthouse, 3rd floor.

    Dr. Roger Linton of Huntville will give a lecture on the Battle of Chickamauga and the establishment of the Chickamauga/Chattanooga National Military Park. Location: Bell Conference Centre on the campus of the University of West Alabama, in Livingston. Time: 6:00 p.m. No cost to attend.     Camp Commander Patrick Samples will give a presentation on the Scotch-Irish of the Mountain South (Southern Appalachia), who formed the majority of the Confederate Army, in order to provide background on who they were and what they were fighting for.

    His main references will be Leyburn's classic book and James Webb's Born Fighting. Come hear Cmdr. Samples explain the influence of the Scottish Covenanters and some intriguing connections and ironies with New England Puritans and Tidewater Cavaliers, and find out about their surprising natural allies. Learn about the Anglo-Scottish Borders whose culture is essentially that of the Scotch-Irish. The themes of resistance to central authority, constant conflict, and unrepentant rebellion against oppresssors will be the the main subject.

    The Confederate Memorial Parade in Fayette is on April 23rd and starts at 11:00am at the Fayette County Courthouse in Fayette. Everyone is invited to participate in 3rd annual Confederate Memorial Parade in Fayette Alabama. Time is at 11:00 a.m. at the Fayette County Courthouse.
